7 Habits Time
Today students got inside their binders and recorded their acts of kindness on their bingo board under tab one! As a class, we performed 58 acts of kindness this week!
We will use the bingo board every Friday.
I also record our reading minutes and shared them with the class. As a class, we read 1,368 minutes in one week! WOOHOO! Our class goal is 5,000 minutes a month! I have a feeling this will be an easy goal to meet!
As students listened to a story about Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, they were allowed to lay down on this gloomy day! Students were very engaged and were able to answer questions about the story that related to Habit 5!
The Horses had a GREAT week! Looking forward to more fun and learning next week!
Happy Friday :)
Partner Reading
JA in a Day
Students had a great time learning about needs and wants! They even learned about money and planting seeds! Each student was engaged and followed along with all the fun activities that were planned by our JA leaders Bill and Kyle :)
Observation Walk
As we begin exploring our 5 senses, students began learning about sight.
We started by reading a book called
and drew a picture of our eye and labeled three important parts; pupil, iris and sclera.
The Horses put on their scientist hat and went on an observation walk. Using their eyes, they looked for things that they might not always see when walking around Barretts. Students went back into the classroom to add colors to their Science Notebooks and shared out their findings!
This week we also began talking about hearing. Today students played a game called Listening Bingo! Next week we will go on a listening walk. As we move through the unit, we will also look at touch and smell next week!
