Popcorn and Our 5 Senses

To end our science unit, Exploring Our Sense, students explored all five senses with popcorn! The kids thought this experiments and the taste test were the best :)

Reading

New Unit in Reading: Emergent Storybooks; Telling Good Stories

As we being Emergent Storybooks, students will have access to four main storybooks for the next four weeks:
Caps for Sale
Three Billy Goats Gruff
Goldilocks and the Three Bears
The Little Red Hen

Each week, students will spend time using one emergent storybook! When reading some of the books, students will create puppets to help them retell the story! Our mini-lessons focus on characters, character voice, sounds effects and vocabulary.

This week student used the storybook Caps for Sale! I have some great storytellers and I am looking forward to next week when we focus on The Three Billy Goats Gruff :)
